A 28-year-old man, who was carrying a backpack of books and groceries, was shot Tuesday at 9 p.m. on the 800 block of Riverside Avenue, near the Broadway Bridge.
He was treated and released at Dominican Hospital.
Police are looking for two men in grey hoodies. They said the men approached the victim and demanded his backpack. He put it on the ground and they picked it up and started to leave. But he chased after them.
One of them turned and shot him.
The men hid their faces with bandanas and were said to be in the late teens or early 20s.Â
