Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf Closed Due to High Surf, Tide

BREAKING: The surf forecast is for waves at 25 feet plus, police said.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — The Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf will be closed today until noon due to a high surf advisory and high tide conditions. The Santa Cruz Police Department announced the closure Friday.

The wharf closed at 2 a.m. and will be closed to all pedestrian and vehicle traffic for the safety of the public, police said. The only people allowed on the wharf will be public safety personnel and members of the wharf maintenance crew.

The surf forecast is for waves at 25 feet plus and will be coupled with a morning high tide of 4.99 feet, police said.
