A site called TravelNerd lists Santa Cruz as one of the Top 10 spots in the country to take a family on a beach vacation.
TravelNerd specifically looked for small beach towns that had a great mix of outdoor activities, family-friendly institutions and safe, fun beaches for the little ones, the site said.
