Santa Cruz Police Memorial Day Weekend 2016 Stats Released

Santa Cruz police release arrest information for the Memorial Day weekend that report a felony battery and alleged stolen car arrests.

SANTA CRUZ - Santa Cruz police on Tuesday released arrest information for the Memorial Day Weekend.

Police say they deployed patrol teams that stayed busy throughout the beach area, downtown and neighborhoods during the entire Memorial Day weekend.

Santa Cruz police reported a felony battery arrest, and several alleged stolen car arrests.

SCPD authorities say officers responded to 1,251 calls for service, and made a total of 78 arrests.

Steven Tidd, 46 years old from San Jose was arrested for felony battery.

On Saturday 5/28/16, Officers responded to a bar on the 1100 block of Pacific Avenue regarding a battery. A man and woman were inside the bar watching a show. The couple had a small altercation with the suspect Steven Tidd, 46 years old from San Jose. Steven Tidd turned and punched the female victim in the face. According to witnesses, Mr. Tidd hit the woman several times rendering her unconscious. The victim was transported to Dominican Hospital. Mr. Tidd was arrested for felony battery.

Just before 10:00 pm, on Sunday 5/29/16 a SCPD Officer located a stolen car in a drug store parking lot in the 900 block of Soquel Avenue. At the time, the car was occupied by three people. At approximately 8:35 pm, a high risk style car stop was conducted by SCPD. Ryan Murray, 44 year old, transient from Santa Cruz and , William Lee-Jobe, 24 year old, transient from Santa Cruz went to jail for possession of the stolen car.

Isaias Martinez, 27 years old from Santa Cruz

On Sunday 5/29/16, an SCPD Officer found another occupied stolen car with two suspects inside in the 200 block of Front Street. Several SCPD Officers responded for a high risk stop and Petra Roldan, 19 years old from Santa Cruz and Isaias Martinez, 27 years old from Santa Cruz were arrested for possession of the stolen car.
