Santa Cruz Shares Timeline for Sewer Main Replacement
Work begins Monday, April 4 and is expected to reach completion by Friday, April 29.

The city of Santa Cruz begins replacement of the Broadway St. sanitary sewer main between Seabright Ave. and Cayuga St. on Monday, April 4. Contracted to Granite Construction Company, this work will continue weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with traffic impacts and is expected to be completed by Friday, April 29.
Two-way traffic will remain in effect, but there will be delays and, at times, left turns will not be permitted at the intersections of Broadway at Cayuga and Broadway at Seabright. Parking on Broadway will also be restricted during the sewer upgrade.

All attempts will be made to minimize delays for drivers of children going to and from Gault Elementary School. It is recommended that drivers allow extra time for student drop-offs and pick-ups.
The project replaces approximately 556 lineal feet of existing six-inch diameter clay sewer pipeline with new eight-inch diameter PVC pipeline. The new PVC pipe will improve sewer pipeline performance and reliability as the existing pipe is failing.
