Santa Cruz Voters: Keep An Eye Out For Your Recall Ballot
Santa Cruz County mailed out ballots for the upcoming gubernatorial election. What to know.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Santa Cruz voters can expect to find a ballot in their mailbox this week, a month ahead of the recall election targeting Gov. Gavin Newsom.
Voters will also receive instructions on how to mark and return the ballot, the Santa Cruz County Elections Department said in a statement. State and county voter guides can also be found online.
Anyone who does not receive a ballot in the coming days can contact elections staff at 831-454-2060.

Election materials will arrive in a 9.5- by 6-inch envelope marked "with a big blue XO on the flap," the county said.
“We wanted something easy to spot in the piles of mail we all get,” County Clerk Tricia Webber said in the statement. “So, we are mailing every voter a hug and a kiss with their ballot.”

Still haven't registered to vote? You can do so here through Aug. 30.
Some 170,000 in Santa Cruz County were registered to vote at the beginning of the year.
When the time comes to cast your ballot, voters will have the following options.
- Mail it in: No stamp necessary. Ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received within a week after the election.
- Drop it off: Take it to a drop-box location near you.
- Vote early: Beginning Aug. 16 wing by the county clerk's office at 701 Ocean St., Room 310 in Santa Cruz and the Watsonville City Clerk’s Office at 275 Main St. on the fourth floor or sixth floor of the parking garage.
- Vote on or near Election Day: Vote at one of 17 voting locations from Sept. 11 to 8 p.m. Sept. 14. Find a list of locations in your voter guide.
The elections department Vote Mobile will travel across the county in the days ahead, offering voter services.
