See Smoke In Santa Cruz County? Prescribed Burn Underway
The burn is slated to continue throughout the week, depending on weather conditions, officials said.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Monterey Bay residents may notice smoke in the skies through Sunday as a 300-acre prescribed burn begins at Wilder Ranch State Park.
The burn is slated to run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, weather permitting. The burn will be monitored, according to a statement from California State Parks, which is conducting the burn.
The burn seeks to cut down on flammable fire fuels and improve the habitat for wildlife, among other benefits, state parks said.
