Giants fans replaced the pumpkin on the surfer statue with a beard, keeping with last year's Giants slogan: Fear the Beard.
So many towns have icons that get decorated for the holidays.

At least they don't dump paint on it, as they do in my old town of New Rochelle, N.Y., to the statue of Thomas Paine.
