Tagger Caught Pink-Handed In Santa Cruz County

A 17-year-old boy caught tagging in a Santa Cruz County tunnel by Sheriff's officers was sent back to the scene to clean up his mess.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY - A 17-year-old boy caught tagging in a Santa Cruz County tunnel by Sheriff's officers was sent back to the scene to clean up his mess as a punishment.

In a Facebook post, Santa Cruz County Sheriff officials say they caught the 17 year old in the act of tagging a county tunnel.

According to deputies, the juvenile had a bag of spray paint with him and paint on his fingers.

The Sheriff's office says they decided that instead of arresting the young man at the time, he would return to the tunnel and clean up the mess. Officers say the boy was apologetic, and complied.

The case has been referred to the District Attorney's Office for possible prosecution, according to the post.
