Vandalism Suspects Caught On Camera, SCSO Says

Sheriff's officials released a surveillance video that shows the two suspects near the train tracks in Aptos.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Santa Cruz County sheriff's officials are asking for the public's help in identifying two vandalism suspects. Sheriff's officials released a surveillance video on Facebook that depicts two male suspects near the train tracks in Aptos. They approached the security camera and one of them tried to spray paint over it, sheriff's officials said.

The second suspect then tried to shoot the camera with a BB gun. According to sheriff's officials, numerous fences, walls and buildings in the area of this incident have been tagged with graffiti. The suspects depicted in the video are suspected of spraying graffiti elsewhere in Aptos, sheriff's officials said.

Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to contact Santa Cruz County sheriff's officials and refer to case 17-09513.
