Watsonville Teen Arrested For Alleged Gang Stabbing

BREAKING: Police said the gang-related stabbing occurred last week in Santa Cruz.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — Police have arrested one suspect and identified another suspect involved in a gang-related stabbing last week in Santa Cruz, police announced Monday.

On Thursday police arrested a 17-year-old resident of Watsonville for his alleged involvement in the altercation and stabbing. Another juvenile suspect has been identified, and Santa Cruz police are working with law enforcement officials throughout Santa Cruz County to locate and arrest the individual, police said.

The arrest comes after an investigation of the gang-related stabbing that occurred Wednesday morning. According to police, a 25-year-old man was being chased when he got on a bus in the 1000 block of Soquel Avenue.

When he exited the bus at Soquel Avenue and Darwin Street, he was stabbed. The victim then waved down a passerby who drove him to a hospital. He was treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.
