'We Are Santa Cruz' is a Video Art Project That Puts You in the Movie
Volunteers will be filmed 2 p.m.- 9 p.m. Friday at the Civic Auditorium

To bring back the positives of Santa Cruz in the wake of the violence that left two officers dead, a group of artists is asking residents to be filmed speaking to a video camera Friday.
The video will be compiled and edited and will run in the window of the Rittenhouse Building (that beautiful empty landmark on Pacific and Church) in May.
"You are the artwork," says the group's homepage, which asks residents to stand briefly in front of the camera Friday at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium and be themselves, "showing off your Santa Cruz lifestyle with your outfit or props."

Will you give it a shot?
The group's website has a simulation of what the exhibit will look like...and it looks very cool.
