What's Wrong With Your Resume?

It should be as short and punchy as a tweet...or a headline, say experts who give counseling at the Santa Cruz Farmer's Market.

Resumes have changed with attention spans, says Rick Botelho, of Profile, of Santa Cruz, which connects employers to workers.

They have to be shorter than they were years ago, with idea expressed in 140 characters, as if they were being tweeted, rather than lengthily explained.

"Save the explanations for the interview," Botelho told clients who stopped for help at the Wednesday downtown Farmer's Market. Profiles will be out there once a month.

Here's a review of the Aug. 21 stand at the market, in which five people got serious help getting their capabilities to employers.
