With Eight Weeks Left Kaiser Permanente Arena Gets a Floor; Team Will Start Hiring Saturday

On the fourth week of construction, crews laid down $500,000 of cement. Next week, the prefab walls come in.

Dev Con construction crews Thursday beat the rain and laid down a giant slab – 500 yards of cement – that will be the floor of the new arena for the Santa Cruz Warriors.

The team also announced a job hiring fair to be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Capitola Employment Development Department at 2045 40th Ave.

It may be hiring as many as 100 people to work at the arena in jobs including ushers, parking attendants, ticket takers, marketing interns, merchandising, statistics, ticketing,, public address, vendors, security, video board operator and scoreboard operator.
