A surfer rescued the trio after their car drove off a cliff and into the waters of Sunny Cove Beach.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office said it will arrest a woman on suspicion of attempted murder and child endangerment after she drove off a cliff and into the ocean with two boys.

The woman, who was not named, will be arrested after she is medically cleared, sheriff's office spokesperson Ashley Keehn said in an email. Investigators decided to arrest her after conducting interviews and reviewing video footage.

The public was asked to stay away from Sunny Cove Beach in the Twin Lakes area Friday after a car drove off a cliff there around 8 a.m. A surfer rescued the woman and boys.
