19-Year-Old Shot To Death In Santa Monica, Brother Arrested
An eyewitness told a local news station 20 to 30 police officers wearing bulletproof vests descended onto the scene.
SANTA MONICA, CA — A 19-year-old was shot to death in Santa Monica Sunday and his brother was taken into custody, authorities said.
The incident occurred at 6:35 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Lincoln Boulevard, Santa Monica police Sgt. D. Hicks said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
"It appears two brothers became involved in a dispute and one brother shot the other. The one shot succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene," SMPD Lt. Candice Cobarrubias told Patch. "The suspect was taken into custody without incident."

Police are considering the incident a homicide at this point, but the investigation is ongoing and further details will be provided later, Cobarrubias said.
A woman who was at the scene told KTLA about 20 to 30 police officers wearing bulletproof vests descended onto the scene of an apartment building. The area was mostly cleared as of Monday morning.

The victim, identified as Charles Mondev, of Santa Monica, was shot at least once but the official cause of death has not been released, authorities told ABC7.
