ABC will hold open casting calls in Santa Monica and three other cities around the country for the second season of "The Taste.''

The show features culinary superstars Anthony Bourdain and Nigella Lawson coach teams of four competing pro and amateur cooks as they vie to create the best-tasting dish.

In each episode, competitors face team and individual challenges with a variety of culinary themes through several elimination rounds. At the end of each episode, the mentors judge the competitors' dishes blind, with no knowledge of whose creation they're sampling, what they're eating, how it was prepared or whom they could be eliminating.

Potential applicants can sign up at www.thetastecasting.com for the June 29 casting call that will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Art Institute of California-Los Angeles, 2900 31st St., Santa Monica.

The other casting calls will be held in Chicago on July 13, Nashville on July 14 and New York City on July 20.
