Pedestrian Struck, Injured In Collision On Ocean Avenue

SANTA MONICA, CA — A man walking across the street was struck by a car on Ocean Avenue Friday morning, according to Santa Monica Police.

At about 8:34 a.m., Santa Monica Police Department officers received a call about a traffic collision with injuries near Marguerita Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a 64-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries due to a collision with a car.

Police said the pedestrian was walking across the street when he was struck by a 2018 Toyota SUV traveling northbound. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police, officers said.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital to treat his injuries.

Traffic was closed between Marguerita Avenue and Georgina Avenue near Palisades Beach for a short time while police conducted the investigation.
