Eroded Bluff Removed, Roads Reopened After Emergency Repairs
Crews overnight removed the large, cracked section of the Santa Monica bluffs and hauled the debris off-site.

SANTA MONICA, CA — The emergency removal of an eroded section of Santa Monica's bluff was completed ahead of schedule Wednesday morning, and impacted roadways were reopened, officials announced.
Officials announced Friday that there was a large crack in the bluffs located just above the PCH between the California Incline and Moomat Ahiko Way. To ensure safety and prevent potential emergency situations, officials decided to remove the cracked portion.

Crews overnight used a large crane with a clamshell attachment to slowly break down the cracked section and hauled the debris off-site, according to city officials.
