New Year's Eve at Lago Santa Monica

To ring in 2012, Locanda del Lago—located on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica—will host a “Bursting with Bubbles” party and five-course dinner on New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31, 2011) from 9-11 p.m. ($89 per person, including a complimentary glass of Prosecco; $139 includes bottomless Pommery Champagne; limited à la carte menu served from 4-8 p.m.). On New Year’s Day (Jan. 1, 2012), guests may enjoy the same celebratory menu specials—in addition to a limited à la carte menu served all day long.

The New Year’s Eve fête will also feature an extensive selection of Champagne and sparkling wines by the glass, $25 bottles of Pommery Pop Splits, a live DJ, dancing, midnight toast, and optional $15 overnight parking (with next-day pickup from 5-10 p.m.). The holiday menu includes:

Local oyster with Champagne sabayon

Muschovy duck paté

White asparagus with white truffle and Fontina fonduta

Tortelli in Zuppa di Pesce all’Adriatico

Mediterranean sea bass tortelli in tomato seafood bouillabaisse

Spigola in Salsa d’Aragosta allo Zafferano

Pan-roasted Virginia striped bass in local spiny lobster-saffron sauce, served with sautéed farmers’ market vegetables

Coscia d’Agnello al Forno con Composta di Mirtilli

Roasted leg of lamb with spiced blueberry compote and horseradish mashed potatoes

Trancio  di Gianduja e Mousse di Cioccolato

Dark chocolate mousse and Gianduja hazelnut cake, served with raspberry and vanilla sauces
