Photography Show Features Flaming Lips, Little Dragon & More

         The Santa Monica College Photography Gallery is pleased to present Josh Sanseri’s “Rock ‘n’ Roll’s Not Dead, It Just Smells Funny,” an exhibition featuring portraits and live photographs of musicians and bands who are both established and “up-and-coming” in the indie music scene. Included are images of The Flaming Lips, Little Dragon, Deadmau5, Built to Spill, The Avett Brothers and many more.

         The show runs March 10-30 in the gallery, located on the second floor of Drescher Hall on the main SMC campus, 1900 Pico Blvd. The opening reception is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 10. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. For information, call (310) 434-4289.

         Sanseri was born and raised in Portland, educated in Illinois and Australia, and has called Los Angeles home for the past eight years. He moved to California after finishing his B.A. in Cinema and Photography and his M.F.A in Painting & Printmaking from Southern Illinois University. He's currently a full-time photography professor at SMC and actively maintains his freelance photography business.
