Lane Closures, Parking Restrictions Continue On Santa Monica Boulevard
Roadwork is continuing into next week on Santa Monica Boulevard on the Westside.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Lane closures and parking restrictions on Santa Monica Boulevard are set to continue into next week as crews pave the busy road.
The construction will occur between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. between Oct. 27 and Nov. 2.
On the Westside, Santa Monica Boulevard will be impacted just west of the 405 Freeway:

- Up to one lane of eastbound and westbound Santa Monica Boulevard from Centinela Avenue to Amherst Drive will be closed during construction hours.
- There will be no parking on either side of the boulevard between Centinela Avenue and Amherst Drive 24/7 during the construction period.
- The Big Blue Bus stop at Main Street and Santa Monica Boulevard has been temporarily moved to Carmelina Avenue.

The project — focused on State Route 2 — will also result in closures in Echo Park:
- Up to two lanes of northbound and southbound Alvarado Street from the 101 Freeway to Santa Ynez Street will be closed during construction hours.
- Up to one lane will be closed on northbound and southbound Alvarado Street from the 101 to Santa Ynez Street from 4 p.m. to 9 a.m.
- There will be no parking on either side of Alvarado Street from the freeway to Santa Ynez Street.
The $70.2 million project involves the rehabilitation of patent along SR 2 on the Westside, in Hollywood and in Echo Park. This most recent round of construction does not impact the Hollywood segment of the road.

The Westside segment will have 1.4 miles of designated bus priority lane installed on each side of Santa Monica Boulevard.
Crews will also upgrade traffic signal poles and curb ramps and install bike racks, bicycle and pedestrian signage and transit stop improvements across all three segments.
The project is expected to be completed in fall 2028.
