SANTA MONICA, CA — Authorities recovered the body of a man from the water in Santa Monica Saturday morning, the Los Angeles County Fire Department's lifeguard division said. Fire officials said lifeguards responded to the report of a man jumping off the Santa Monica pier around 11:30 p.m. Friday. Authorities from various agencies searched the area for hours before the search was suspended at 2 a.m. The search resumed at 6 a.m. Saturday.
