The loss means that Lighthouse Christian Academy has a new nemesis. Armenian General Benefit Union, a big school in the San Fernando Valley, defeated Lighthouse in playoffs in 2022. They defeated the Saints in a the preseason Del Toledo tournament this year and in a friendly Thursday: 19-25, 25-27, 19-25.
The Saints had hoped that the new form of superstar Jillian Jenkins would tip the game in their favor. In their first matchup, Jillian's timing was off on hits. Soon after, she dialed it in and became the difference-maker in games, scoring one third of Saints points with her hot hits.

With the stinging loss, the Saints could only derive some measure of satisfaction that they narrowed the score difference down from their first matchup against AGBU.
Coach Jessica said the team suffered from a case of the Mondays (they don't usually play at their highest level on Monday).
Saints were troubled, for the first time this season, by their opponents' serves. At the same time, LCA flubbed too many serves. Uncharacteristic mistakes were made.
If LCA wanted to beat AGBU, they needed to play their best game. But some of the girls looked plagued by nerves.
LCA will look to rebound against the Newbury Park Adventist Academy on Tuesday.
