See Spooky Halloween Light Show On Pacific Pier's Ferris Wheel

SANTA MONICA, CA — Santa Monica will have an extra happy Halloween, thanks to a 90-foot tall ghoulish ghost on the Ferris wheel at Pacific Park. The world-famous Ferris wheel will also feature a smiling vampire, grinning jack-o-lantern and more from sundown to midnight now through Sunday.

The Pacific Wheel is the world’s only solar-powered Ferris wheel. It features 174,000 LED lights with 16.7 million color value combinations while the programming and display software displays dynamic, custom, computer-generated lighting entertainment, the Pacific Park press release said.

The Ferris wheel soars nine stories high and lifts riders more than 130 feet above the ocean to offer views of the Southern California coastline from its location on the Santa Monica Pier, according to Pacific Park. Pacific Park is LA's only admission-free amusement park. It offers 12 amusement rides, 14 midway games, an oceanfront food plaza and beachside retail.
