Plane Bound For Santa Monica Crashes Into New Mexico Home, Kills Pilot
A small plane believed to be heading for Santa Monica crashed into a home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Tuesday, killing the pilot.
SANTA MONICA, CA — A small plane believed to be heading for Santa Monica crashed into a home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Tuesday, killing the pilot.
According to media reports out of Santa Fe, the pilot of the twin-engine plane took off around 9 a.m. from Santa Fe Regional Airport and reported engine trouble a short time later. Minutes later, the plane crashed into a home that authorities said was empty at the time.
Photos from the scene showed the home heavily damaged by the resulting fire.

A New Mexico State Police representative told reporters the plane was bound for Santa Monica. The pilot, who has not been identified, was believed to be the only person aboard the Cessna 310, which can seat four to six people.
