Repeat Break-In At Santa Monica Cafe Caught On Video, Suspects At Large

Nothing was stolen during the early-morning burglary — but it was the second time the coffee shop has been burglarized this year.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Police on Tuesday asked for the public's help finding two men wanted for breaking into a coffee shop and causing over $1,000 in property damage in an incident caught on surveillance video.

The burglary occurred just after 4:30 a.m. Monday at Amai Coffee, 1701 Pico Blvd., where the suspects shattered the front glass door, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.

The suspects did not steal anything and fled in a white or silver sedan, police said.

A similar burglary occurred at the coffee shop earlier this year. A neighboring business, Dr. T House, was also targeted around the same time, police said.

The first suspect is described as a man with an average build who was
wearing a black sweater, face mask, blue jeans and black shoes.

The second suspect is described as a man with an average build who was wearing a black FILA sweater with white lettering, a red face mask, black pants and black shoes.
