Santa Monica College Named Top UC Transfer College For 33rd Year

According to school data from the 2022-2023 school year, Santa Monica College sent 1,086 students to UC campuses last school year.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Santa Monica has maintained its place as the top transfer college to the University of California system for the 33rd year.

The college also remained the leader for African American and Latinx transfers to the UC. it is also the leading transfer college to the University of Southern California and Loyola Marymount University and is the top feeder west of the Mississippi to Columbia University.

According to school data from the 2022-2023 school year, Santa Monica College sent 1,086 students to UC campuses in the prior academic year, which is 169 more transfers than the previous year.

Among last year's 1,086 transfers, 213 were Latinx and Chicanx students and 79 were African American students.

“This is a continuing highlight we value and do not take for granted at Santa Monica College,” said SMC Superintendent/President Dr. Kathryn E. Jeffery, “as it speaks volumes to the college’s longstanding legacy of all-encompassing student support and the tremendous dedication of SMC’s transfer team, instructors, counselors, and staff, who go the extra mile to ensure that students reach their dream goal of transferring to a four-year college or university or achieving their dream career."
