SoulCycle Expands To Santa Monica Rooftop During Pandemic

SoulCycle is heading outdoors with SoulOutside in Santa Monica and creating a new outdoor studio.

SANTA MONICA, CA — SoulCycle isn't stopping workouts during the pandemic—the company introduced a new outdoor studio and Santa Monica location to keep people motivated and moving.

People can feel the ocean breeze and join outdoor cycling on the rooftop deck at Santa Monica Place with SoulOutside.

"Through SoulOutside, SoulCycle is continuing its commitment to the Soul community by taking its signature 45-minute indoor cycling class outside, seven days a week," the company said in a statement.

Classes started in August and run through mid-October. The lineup includes rides led by favorite Los Angeles SoulCycle instructors.

There are 40 bikes outside, each spaced six feet apart. Masks are mandatory at all times during daily classes, including while riding.

Riders get temperature checks before joining and they can use headphones provided by SoulCycle to listen to songs outside without distractions.

Classes are $30 and packages can be purchased online, through the SoulCycle app or on-site. Classes for the coming week will be available for booking each Monday at noon.

The company continues to disinfect bikes, weights and shoes. The staff wears masks and gloves, according to the company website.

"Santa Monica Place and SoulCycle are committed to keeping the community, riders, staff, and instructors safe through heightened cleaning processes, social distancing practices, and face coverings," the company said.

Santa Monica Place is located at 395 Santa Monica Place, Santa Monica, at Broadway and Third Street Promenade. SoulCycle's outdoor classes are hosted on the rooftop deck on level 3.
