Suicidal Man Briefly Places Santa Monica Courthouse on Lockdown
The man is now in custody and the lockdown has been lifted.

A man threatening suicide on the front lawn of the Santa Monica Courthouse on Tuesday morning, briefly placing the facility under lockdown, is now in custody, police said.
The incident started at around 8:15 a.m. when the man allegedly drove a pick-up truck onto the lawn of the courthouse, located at 1725 Main St., Santa Monica police Officer Robert Sparks said.

The incident was over in about 30 minutes and the man was placed in custody at around 8:45 a.m., he said.
The lockdown has now been lifted.

Sparks has no information on whether the man has any weapons, his age or description at this time.
The man was taken to UCLA Medical Center for evaluation, a watch commander said.
