Westside Donuts is classy classic

Westside Donuts & Croissants in West Los Angeles is honestly one of those lowkey spots that’s way better than it looks.
It’s a small simple shop on Santa Monica Blvd. at Sawtelle Blvd. that smells amazing as soon as you walk in. The place is clean and chill with that old school donut shop vibe but there aren’t many seats so it’s more of a grab and go type deal.

Parking can be a little annoying since the lot is small in the northeast corner mall, so it’s best to go early in the morning when the donuts are still warm and fresh.
The people working there are super friendly too. The owner and staff always say hi and remember regulars which makes it feel like a little neighborhood spot instead of just another bakery. They're immigrants from Cambodia chasing the American dream.

Now the food is straight fire. The donuts are soft fluffy and taste fresh every time. The glazed twist is crazy good like soft as a pillow good and the apple fritter hits with that perfect crunchy outside and soft inside.
The maple old fashioned is solid too if you like that classic flavor. But the real star might be the croissants, especially the ham and cheese one. It’s warm buttery cheesy and everything just melts together perfectly.
They also got coffee that actually tastes decent not that burnt gas station kind.
Prices are pretty fair too around twenty dollars for a dozen donuts which isn’t bad considering how fresh they are.
The only downsides are small stuff like parking being tight, it getting busy in the mornings and not really much space to sit and chill.
Plus don’t expect wild flavors or fancy toppings because they keep it classic. Still that’s kind of what makes it great.
If you just want a good donut a hot croissant and chill vibes without all the hype Westside Donuts & Croissants is worth the stop.
I’d give it a solid nine out of ten because the food’s amazing the people are nice and it feels like a real local spot you’ll want to go back to.
