Yoga-urt Is Opening In Santa Monica 🍦

SANTA MONICA, CA — Yoga-urt is expanding in Los Angeles and bringing plant-based, handcrafted treats to Santa Monica.

The company is planning its soft open Saturday from 3 to 9 p.m. at 1700 Ocean Park Blvd., Santa Monica. It's double the size of the Echo Park store and has seven to 10 different rotating flavors.

To celebrate the big move to the Westside, a grand opening is planned for Oct. 16 at 1700 Ocean Park Blvd., Santa Monica. The company will give out free minis to customers from 2 to 4 p.m. that weekend and feature their compostable cups.

Melissa Schulman founded the company, blending sweet and health-conscious frozen desserts are handcrafted on site and in small batches, beginning with a hand-squeezed almond and cashew milk base.

"Each soft serve is enriched with premium wholesome ingredients and is nourished with four gut-essential probiotic strains - L. casei, L. rhamnosus, L.acidophilus, L. bifidum," according to the company. "The mindfully delicate cooking process results in a gut-friendly soft serve that is entirely soy-free and Kosher, free from any artificial flavors, preservatives and refined sugars."

It's something people have wanted on the Westside, the company said.

“Customers have been asking for a new store for several years and I’ve wanted a store on the Westside for a while, so when I heard about the opportunity of succeeding Treats Frozen Yogurt Bar with a new Yoga-urt storefront I immediately saw it as a beautiful opportunity to expand our community,” Schulman said.

“We are beyond grateful for the continued support of our customers and look forward to introducing Yoga-urt to the local residents of Santa Monica and surrounding areas," Schulman said. "We will continue to honor this location as a peaceful space where the community can gather and enjoy Yoga-urt's guiltless selection of wholesome and authentically crafted soft serve in an eco-conscious environment.”

Yoga-urt will take over the Treats Frozen Yogurt space, which has been on Ocean Park Boulevard for 10 years.

"The owners were ready to move on, which brought an amazing opportunity for Yoga-urt," the company said.

Foodies in the Santa Monica area will be able to satisfy their sweet-tooth cravings with Yoga-urt’s flavored soft serve options such as Chocolate Bliss, Strawberry Serenity, Salted Caramel Zen, Beautiful Blueberry, Cookies & Cream, naturally sweetened Sweet Greens, Lavender Blossom, Vanilla Harmony and more.

You can get it in a compostable cup, a housemade gluten-free cone, in an ice cream cookie sandwich with cookies baked from repurposed almond and cashew pulp, or Yoga-urt’s delectable frozen pies. Yoga-urt also offers and coffee from LA’s popular Groundwork Coffee Co. and tea from The Art of Tea.
