Random Acts of Kindness Celebrated In Saratoga
In early February, the Saratoga City Council declared February 17 would be a day when you could do something nice, for no particular reason.
SARATOGA - In early February, the Saratoga City Council proclaimed February 17, 2016 as “Random Acts of Kindness Day” in Saratoga.
The proclamation was presented to resident and former Saratoga News reporter Louise Webb, who in 1995 wrote an article on random acts of kindness, according to the City of Saratoga Facebook page. That year, she received her first proclamation declaring February 27, 1995 as Random Acts of Kindness Day.
“The idea is to go the extra mile,” Louise Webb said at the council ceremony. “There’s a lot of things you can do. You can visit someone in the hospital, give someone a hug, or write a letter to someone. You know, we don’t write enough letters these days.”
