Saratoga City Hall Closed Friday

Saratoga City Hall will be closed all day today, Friday July 19 due to its so-called "9/80" schedule.

According to city spokesman Brian Babcock, the municipality's 9/80 schedule was created as part of Saratoga's 2013 benefits summary schedule, which is available on the city's website:

"Employees on a 9/80 schedule are scheduled to work 8 nine-hour days, 1 eight hour day, and have one day off every two weeks.

"An employee’s workweek begins in the middle of the employee’s 8 hour day and the employee’s day off is on the same day of the week in the following week."
 
All scheduled days off, which are every other Friday, are posted on a calendar on the city's website, Babcock said.

The 9/80 schedule went into effect around 2003, he said, adding that all departments, including the City Manager's Office, Community Development, Finance and Public Works departments are closed, except for the Parks and Recreation Department.
