SARATOGA PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING

The Saratoga Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m., Wednesday July 24 at the Civic Theatre/Council Chambers, 13777 Fruitvale Ave., to consider a couple of land-use applications, including one to subdivide a 13.8-acre parcel on Mt. Eden Road into two lots.

SARATOGA VILLAGE MARKETPLACE FARMERS MARKET

The Saratoga Chamber of Commerce and the Saratoga-Monte Sereno Community Foundation host the city's Wednesday's farmers market, 2:30-6:30 p.m. at Saratoga Village's Blaney Plaza, corner of Big Basin Way and Highway 9. Details: 408-867-0753. 

LAND, SEA AND HEAVENLY BODIES AT AEGIS GALLERY

SARATOGA UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION WORKSHOP

Saratoga Union School District trustees meet at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 25 at the agency's office conference room, 20460 Forrest Hills Dr., to discuss their strategic plan, reviews and evaluations and Redwood Middle School PTA's donation of 30-plus computers, among other topics. WEST VALLEY LIGHT OPERA'S 9 To 5

West Valley Light Opera presents the musical comedy “9 To 5,” based on the Twentieth Century Fox film of the same name which starred Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton. It became the second highest-grossing film of the 1980s. Later, it was made into a Broadway musical, opening on Broadway in 2009, receiving four Tony-Award nominations. The story is set in 1979 when Rolodex, IBM Selectric Typewriters and Xerox machines were the state-of-the-art technology in the office. Shows take place at 8 p.m. Friday, July 19; 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 20-21.
