Fatal Bicycle Shooting Occurs In West Valley, LAPD Investigating

Monday afternoon, a man on a bicycle fatally shot a man in his car, Los Angeles Police Department said.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA — Police are asking for the public's help to find a suspect who shot and killed a man in Canoga Park on Monday.

The incident took place around 2:18 p.m. Monday near the 21300 block of Victory Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Officers responded to a shooting call, where they found a man in the street suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim, 43-year-old Mkher Alaverdian, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to LAPD, witnesses said an argument between the two took place minutes before near the 6400 block of DeSoto Avenue, about half a mile from where the victim was discovered. The suspect, who was riding a bike, then shot into the victim's car and killed him.

Valley Bureau Homicide Detectives are investigating and believe there were witnesses to the shooting. No arrests have been made and a suspect description wasn't immediately available.
