Fire Engulfs 3-Story Sherman Oaks Home

The blaze was doused within an hour. No one was injured in the fire.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA — A greater-alarm fire tore through a three-story house in Sherman Oaks on Thursday, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

The fire was reported at 1:40 p.m. in the 3800 block of North Sherwood Place, LAFD's Amy Bastman said. The fire was burning on all three floors of the home, including some brushes outside, she said.

There were no injuries reported, she said.

Eighty-four firefighters responded and knocked down the blaze in 57 minutes, Bastman said. There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire.
