Check out Local Softball Stars at All-Star Games This Week
Teams from the area will compete in All-Star showdowns Tuesday and Thursday this week.

The playoffs might have ended last week, but a select group of softball stars will get to enjoy their high school careers for one more week as compete in local All-Star Games featuring the top senior talent in the San Gabriel Valley.
On Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut is the San Gabriel Valley All-Star game, which divides the valley into a team from the North and a team from the South.
Monrovia head coach Randy Medina will co-coach the North squad along with Bonita's Ken Carlson.

Featured among the 23 players on the North roster are La Canada's Lauren O'Leary and Anna Edwards and Monrovia's Kelly Willams and Schae Simspson.
Then on Thursday is the Public Vs. Private All-Star Game sponsored by the Pasadena Star-News. The game will be held Thursday at Live Oak Park in Temple City. Festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. with a home run derby followed by the All-Star Game.

The Public squad will be coached by La Canada coach KC Mathews, who led the Spartans to a CIF-Southern Section Division 5 title last week. The Public roster is headlined by five Spartans and three Wildcats.
O'Leary, Edwards, Megan Siepler, Shirley Drange and Kayla McCue will represent La Canada, while Williams, Simpson and Emmy Orozco.
Flintridge Prep's Julie Jamie, who led the Rebels to a Prep League title this year, will co-coach the Private Schools team with Mayfield's Jennifer Moulden.
Of the 18 girls on the Private Schools roster, 11 come from either Flintridge Prep, Flintridge Sacred Heart, Rio Hondo Prep and La Salle.
The Rebels are represented by Denise Van der goot, Abbey Deckop and
Kelly Wang.
Allana Pires, Mackenzie Lyng, and Paige Conti represent the Tologs. Rio Hondo Prep has four girls in the game in Charley Parker, Hayley Murphy, Kalli Bray and
Hannah Martin. La Salle's Sterling Shuster rounds out the local players on the squad.
