EnviroLeader Internship Accepting Applications from Local Youth

The three month internship gives students work experience in ecological conservation

 

The Sonoma Ecology Center is accepting applications for its EnviroLeader Summer Internship program, which gives students the opportunity to work alongside ecologists and scientists.

Students focus on ecological conservation or sustainable agriculture during these internships, which last from June 4 - August 25. EnviroLeaders take seminars in concepts related to Sonoma's ecology, including biodiversity, watershed, environmental restoration and the importance of native habitats.

Participants also take part in field trips to sites, which have included the Laguna de Santa Rosa, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and the fish hatchery.

The program is open to Sonoma Valley youth, 14-18. (Pick up an application in the College and Career Center at .)

Students who complete the internship will receive a $400 stipend for their work.
