Fire Destroys Sonoma Valley Buildings, Mobile Homes
News video from the scene shows flames engulfing commercial buildings before spreading to nearby mobile homes.

SONOMA, CA — UPDATED: Three abandoned commercial buildings were destroyed, one was damaged and four nearby mobile homes were damaged by a fire near Sonoma early this morning, a Sonoma Valley Fire and Rescue Authority battalion chief said. There were reports before the 3 a.m. fire that homeless people were living in the abandoned buildings in the former Paul's Resort at 175 W. Verano Ave., Battalion Chief Spencer Andreis said.
Two of the abandoned buildings were engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, Andreis said.
The flames spread to four nearby single-wide mobile homes in the Lazzarotto Mobile Home Park at 18925 Sonoma Highway. Two of the homes sustained major damage and two had moderate damage.

Sonoma County sheriff's deputies and Sonoma Valley firefighters evacuated some residents of the mobile home park. At least three people were displaced by the fire, Andreis said.
The fire took about an hour to control and the scene was cleared by noon, according to Andreis. There were no injuries and the cause is under investigation.

Firefighters from the Schell-Vista and Kenwood fire protection districts, Eldridge Fire Department and Petaluma Fire Department also responded to the fire.
