Sonoma County Deputies Nab 2 in Stolen Car

BREAKING: A Sonoma County Sheriff's deputy spotted a stolen car at a gas station and arrested two suspects, 1 of whom had a felony warrant.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA -- Two people who stopped to get gas in Santa Rosa over the weekend found themselves behind bars after a deputy who was passing by recognized the stolen vehicle they were in.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Department said Feb. 5 that the deputy was driving by a Chevron station on Santa Rosa Avenue the night before when he recognized a car that had been reported stolen.

After performing a records check on the license plate to confirm the vehicle was indeed stolen, the deputy conducted a stop of the two males in the car, and both were arrested without incident.

Along with being in possession of the stolen vehicle, the passenger had a felony warrant out of Sonoma County, according to the Sheriff's office.
