Sonoma County Deputies: Suspected DUI Driver Nabbed After High Speed Chase
A DUI suspect who led Sonoma County sheriff's deputies on a high speed chase on Thursday was arrested for resisting and evading arrest.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA -- A man who led Sonoma County sheriff's deputies on a pursuit early Thursday morning was arrested for resisting and evading arrest, a sheriff's sergeant said.
A sheriff's deputy tried to stop a gray BMW for excessive swerving and possible DUI in the area of Guerneville Road and U.S. Highway 101 in Santa Rosa around 1 a.m. on March 30, Sgt. Spencer Crum said.
The driver, Juan Correa, 34, of San Francisco, would not roll down his window to provide identification and sped away onto northbound Highway 101, according to Crum.

Correa drove at 120 mph and managed to avoid spike strips sheriff's deputies had deployed on the highway in Windsor and Healdsburg, Crum said.
At the Lytton Springs Road off-ramp, a spike strip punctured two of the BMW's tires, but Correa then drove south on Highway 101 at about 60 mph on two rims and two tires, Crum said. A deputy forced Correa's car to
spin sideways near the Arata Lane exit in Windsor.

Correa would not get out of his car until a deputy broke one of the car's windows and released a police dog. He was arrested for resisting and evading arrest and was taken to the Sonoma County Jail where his blood was tested for alcohol, Crum said.
The sheriff's office later determined Correa was reported as a missing person in San Francisco, but those circumstances are unknown, Crum said.
