Patch and T-Mobile are partnering to celebrate Local Heroes who make life better in California with contributions big and small.

SONOMA VALLEY, CA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

How do you know the local hero?

From her wonderful work helping the homeless.

What does the local hero do?

She created HAS/Homeless Action Sonoma to provide shelter and restore lives.

Why do you believe the local hero should be recognized or honored?

She has persevered against great odds to help the homeless because she cares so deeply about them , and refused to give up in the face of great obstacles. She has raised over $2 million to make her project a reality and they just broke ground on their little houses. She is a fantastic example of dedication, compassion, and wisdom. She is transforming our community. She truly walks her talk where so many just talk and complain!

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the local hero?

She truly cares and doesn't give up.
