Woman, 44, Dies In Sonoma Valley Head-On Collision: CHP

The other driver was airlifted to a hospital from the crash site on Arnold Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.

SONOMA VALLEY, CA — A woman died Tuesday in a head-on collision in Sonoma Valley, the California Highway Patrol said.

The crash was reported at 7:25 p.m. Tuesday on Arnold Drive north of Leveroni Road in Sonoma Valley.

Stacey Woienski, 44, of El Verano, the driver of a 2003 Chevy Silverado pickup truck, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, CHP Officer Jaret Paulson said.

A 32-year-old Sonoma resident who was driving a Ford Ranger pickup truck was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment of major injuries, Paulson said.

The roadway was closed for three hours Tuesday night as the fatal crash was investigated.

The CHP's preliminary investigation indicated Woienski was driving southbound on Arnold Drive and crossed over the double lines and collided head-on with Arevalo in the northbound lane, Paulson said.

The Napa CHP Office was continuing its investigation of the crash; anyone with information can call 707-699-6300.
