DOWNEY (CNS) - A body found in a shallow grave near the westbound Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in Downey was that of a man in his 30s, authorities said today.
The discovery was made about 4:45 p.m. Sunday, west of Lakewood Boulevard, said Sgt. Vince Rosario of the Downey Police Department.
California Highway Patrol officials notified Downey police when the remains were found in a shallow grave near the embankment, Rosario said.

Investigators were withholding the man's name until his next-of-kin could be notified.
Coroner's Chief Craig Harvey said the cause of death was not immediately known.
