Boy Found Shot to Death in Compton ID'd as Francisco Salazar of Lynwood

Patrolling deputies found the victim in a parked car in alley in Compton.

Authorities on Thursday identified a 15-year-old boy who was found shot to death in a car parked in an alley in Compton.

Patrolling deputies found the victim in the 2100 block of North Long Beach Boulevard shortly after midnight Wednesday, according to the sheriff’s department.

Francisco Salazar of Lynwood died at the scene, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter. The teen was sitting in the front passenger seat suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body, the sheriff’s department reported.

A motive for the killing was unknown. No suspect information was available. Anyone with information on the shooting was asked to call the sheriff’s homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500, or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222- TIPS.
