Man Arrested in Connection to Body Found in 105 Freeway
Bryan Petty has been booked in suspicion of murder.

DOWNEY (CNS) - A transient was in custody today on suspicion of killing a man whose body was found in a shallow grave near the westbound Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in Downey, authorities said.
The body of the unidentified man, believed to have been in his 30s, was discovered about 4:45 p.m. Sunday west of Lakewood Boulevard. The cause of death has not been announced.
On Tuesday, police arrested 22-year-old Bryan Petty and booked him on suspicion of murder, the Downey Police Department reported. He was being held in lieu of $1 million bail.

"The suspect ... is a transient who resided near the area where this homicide occurred,'' according to a police statement. "During the course of this investigation, Downey detectives received information that led to the identification and subsequent arrest of the suspect.''
