Wrong-Way Driver Arrested Following Head-On Crash on 710 Freeway
The collision shut down the No. 1, 2 and 3 lanes of the freeway for nearly an hour, according to the CHP.

A wrong-way driver was arrested following a head-on collision Thursday on the Long Beach (710) Freeway in South Gate, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash took place on the southbound 710 Freeway, just north of Firestone Boulevard, about 1:10 a.m., CHP Officer Patrick Kimball said.
Eloisa Flores, 27, of Los Angeles suffered minor-to-moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment and placed under arrest, CHP Officer Monica Posada said. It was not immediately known what charges she would face.

According to the preliminary investigation, Flores was driving a Chevrolet HHR SUV north in the southbound lanes when the vehicle collided head- on with a Nissan Sentra driven by a woman in her 30s, who was hospitalized with major injuries, Posada said.
Following the collision, the Nissan spun around and stopped, and it was struck by a Ford Focus driven by a man in his 50s, who suffered minor injuries, Posada said. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The collision shut down the No. 1, 2 and 3 lanes of the freeway for nearly an hour, according to the CHP. A SigAlert was declared at 1:31 a.m. The road was cleared and the SigAlert cancelled at 2:25 a.m., according to the CHP.
