Celebrate Independence Day with a bang. Head over to the fireworks show in South Pasadena and leave the explosives to the professionals.

What: Festival of Balloons from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. fireworks at 9 p.m.

Where: South Pasadena

More: The day starts with a pancake breakfast from 7-10 a.m. at 817 Mound Ave. Cost is $7. The Greenest Fastest Mile which will go down Mission Street will start at 7:45 am. The Festival of Balloons Parade will start at 11 a.m. on Mission Street. A festival with music, games, activities and food will start at noon and go until 3 p.m. The fireworks can be viewed from South Pasadena High School 1401 Fremont Ave at 9 p.m. The gates open at 5:30 p.m.
