If none of those ideas suit your likings, here are six additional ways to ring in the New Year: 

1.  Noon Year's Eve at Kidspace

Before you head out for evening festivities, ring in the "noon" year with the kiddies at Kidspace Children's Museum in Pasadena. The festivities, which begin promptly at 10 a.m., include plenty of music, sparkling cider and dancing. Kids can make their own party hats and noise makers before enjoying a live music performance at 11:30 a.m. Be sure to arrive early, the balloon drop is at noon sharp!

Enjoy a burlesque show in the newly designed bar from 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Entertainment will include a DJ and dancing, party favors and a champagne toast. Presale tickets for the Burlesque show are $20 until Dec. 31 and $25 at the door.

If you're planning on just dining at Carmine's, no tickets are required but reservations are suggested. The restaurant will offer dinner specials throughout the night.



3. Martinis and Appetizers at Noor

If a big New Year's Eve bash is more your style, Pasadena's Noor is the place for you. From 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. munch on complimentary appetizers and sip martinis from the venue's open bar. For $85 presale ($110 at the door), you can dance to the pulsing beats of Radio DJ of the Year, DJ Creativity and welcome 2012 with a champagne toast at midnight.

4. Lavish Festivities at the Langham 

End the year in style with a lavish five or seven course prix fixe menu at The Royce at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena. The first seating—from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.—is $155 per person without wine and $210 with wine.  While the second seating--from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.—is a tad more expensive at $180 without wine and $250 with wine, you'll dine closer to midnight celebrations.

If you'd rather dance the night away, celebrate with live music at the lobby lounge from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m.. For just $75, the hotel lounge offers wine champagne, hors d'oevres and a delectable desserts station.

5. Brazilian BBQ at Gauchos Village

Samba your way to 2012. This Brazilian extravaganza features a decadent dinner with 12 cuts of Brazilian barbecued meats, special seafood buffet, traditional Brazilian Mesa de Frios and gourmet dessert bar. With special guests Katio Moraes and Angelo Metz, guests will be able to dance the night away (or at least until 3 a.m.).

6. Dinner and Jazz and at The Raymond

Enjoy an early seating 5 course prix-fixe menu from 5 to 7:30 p.m. for $90 or a late setting 6 course prix-fixe menu from 8 to 10 p.m. for $105. Main courses consist of Artichoke Ravioli with French Green Olives, Crispy Skinned Lake Superior Whitefish, Soy-sake Marinated Prime Culotte Steak and Herb Roasted Rack of Young Colorado Lamb. Dinner prices also include party favors, entertainment by Jazz Punks and a champagne toast at midnight. A credit card will be required to make a dining reservation on New Year’s Eve.

If you'd rather party your way into the new year, 1886 Bar at The Raymond is hosting a party from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. with party favors, entertainment, limited bar food and a campagne toast for $20 cover.
